A charter flight is a flight that is not part of the scheduled agenda provided by airlines. When you charter a flight, you are renting the aircraft for your use, and on your schedule. You can select important details like the flight time and destination. This is in contrast to commercial flights, where you purchase a seat on a pre-existing flight.
- 02
The two key aspects you should consider are the size and performance of the aircraft. Plus, you have to think about your personal preferences. Maybe you want the jet to be very luxurious; or maybe you’re flying solo alone on a short trip, for just four hours but would still prefer a large jet with a flight attendant. It truly comes down to your preference. Our charter specialists are happy to help to find the right aircraft for you.
- 03
If the distance of your trip exceeds the range of your private jet, you'll need a fuel stop.
For example, Citation X has a range of about 4,000 miles. Thus, if your planned trip is longer than this, you'll need to plan for a fuel stop along the way. If you don’t want to plan for a fuel stop on your journey, your best option would be to look at an aircraft that has a longer range.
- 04
The average fuel stop takes 45–60 minutes. To speed up fuel stops, the operator or pilots may call ahead so a fuel truck is waiting for the aircraft on arrival. For smaller jets, a fuel stop can take as little as 30 minutes.
- 05
Yes, it is possible to have a flexible departure when flying privately. We typically offer a two-hour window, but you can request a longer window as long as it doesn’t interfere with the maximum crew duty day or their next scheduled flight.
- 06
A cabin attendant will be included on any private jet with 10 or more seats. If you would like for a cabin attendant to be included on a smaller aircraft, there is generally an additional charge, please inquire with our charter specialists who can facilitate your request.

Absolutely! Just let us know in advance. That said, there are specific requirements that must be met when traveling with your pet, including making sure that all documentation and vaccination records for your pet(s) are correct and up to date. Dogs and cats must also be at least eight weeks old and weaned when traveling within the U.S.

Yes, as long as the requested adjustments will fit into the schedule availability and the hours of operation at the airport. For last-minute trip changes your consultant will be able to assist with any requests.

Many of the aircraft in the charter market are equipped with WiFi as this amenity is in high demand. If this is something you wish to have, please notify your charter specialist who will make finding the best option with WiFi.

One of the many perks of flying private is that you can bring as much or as little food or drinks as you want. If bringing a case of wine or larger, make sure your charter specialist is aware for spacing and storage purposes.

Yes, interior configurations and amenities differ depending on the type and size of aircraft, but most private jets have bathroom accommodations.
- 14
An empty leg is a segment where the aircraft is repositioning with no passengers on board. Empty legs are often the best deals you can get when chartering private jets!
- 15
Passengers on all international private charter flights will have to stop at customs. In certain countries, you may have to go through customs at a specific port of entry; for example, you must stop at the first port of entry when entering the U.S. from Mexico.

While tipping on a commercial airliner is out of the ordinary, tipping on a private jet makes a lot more sense. The crew loads and unloads your bags, prepares and cleans the aircraft, and does whatever you need for a trip completely tailored to you. Of course, this is included in your trip and tips are absolutely not expected but very much appreciated on private flights, especially for exceptional service.
